Noble House Press is a small house, open to submissions from authors working in literary historical fiction.
We publish literary historical fiction — novels and story collections where real research shapes real narrative tension, not just the backdrop. We are especially drawn to work that treats the historical record as unfinished business: stories where the line between what happened and what’s invented is handled with care, and disclosed to the reader.
Please send a brief query letter, a synopsis (one page or less), and the first three chapters or an equivalent sample (up to 5,000 words) as a single PDF or DOCX attachment. Include your working title, approximate word count, and a short note on your research sources or historical basis.
We aim to respond to all submissions within 8–12 weeks. Given our size, we’re only able to reply personally to submissions we’d like to see more of — if you haven’t heard from us after 12 weeks, please consider it a pass. Simultaneous submissions to other publishers are fine; just let us know if you accept an offer elsewhere.
